State Buildings

Grant: SEP ARRA

$7,000,000 was budgeted as a part of the grant award to be used to provide energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades to existing state-owned buildings.

Projects include lighting replacement to more efficient T-8 fluorescent lights and long-life light emitting diode ("LED") lights; lighting control systems that turn off lights in unoccupied rooms; energy saving window treatments; heating, ventilation and air conditioning ("HVAC") system upgrades to newer, more efficient systems; photovoltaic installations (four locations); and similar projects that are designed to save the state significant energy costs. All projects will strive to meet ARRA SEP goals of annual energy savings of at least 10 MBtu for each $1,000 of total investment.
